Pursuant to Section 19-1102 of the Nebraska State Statutes, I hereby publish the wages of the employees of the Village of Waterloo, Nebraska: Village Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer 34.45 hour; Deputy Clerk 23.15 hour; Maintenance Supervisor 30.93 hour; Maintenance Employees 20, 23.10 hour; Library Director 24.75 hour; Library Employee 19.85, 16 hour; Police Chief 42.93 hour; Police Sergeant 39 hour; Part-time Police Officers 25 hour and Full-time Police Officer 25, 26, 26.25, 31.25, 32 hour; Fire Department Employee 25 hour.

VILLAGE OF WATERLOO

REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS

June 10, 2024

 

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Waterloo met for a Regular Meeting on June 10, 2024 at 7:00 pm in the Village Office, 509 S. Front Street. Present were Chairperson Travis Harlow and Trustees Rotert, Sass, A. Harlow, and Rochford. Clerk Smith was also present.

Chairperson T. Harlow called the meeting to order at 7:04pm and stated the location of the Open Meetings Act. Notice of the meeting was duly exercised and mailed per the bylaws.

Minutes from the May 13, 2024 Regular Meeting and May 28, 2024 Special Meeting and the May Treasurer Report were approved as presented.

The following bills were approved be paid: Advanced htg-repairs 5280, Black Hills-Heat 329.03, Cox-phone 1172.23, Cummins-repairs 561.08, Daily record-publications 46.67, DC Treas-license fee 96.85, Fenix-meter hosting 863.50, First State Bank-redev dist 29805.70, Great Plains-uniforms 67, Harvest Heights-redev dist 4316.44, Heiman-bunker gear 11631.47, Ingram-library books 532.63, JDs Carwash-cruiser expenses 59.50, JEO-street project 19258.25, Lincoln National-life insurance 429.61, Marco-copier 277.71, Menards-supplies 154.67, MUD-cost of water 15427.85, Micromarketing-library books 94.79, NLC-dues 300, NDEE-loan payment 8972.50, NSP-software dues 2400, New Moon-cleaning 400, OReilly-street supplies 9.99, Office depot-supplies 82.05, OPPD-electricity 5293.27, Papillion Sanitation-trash 365.01, eopleService-contracted maintenance 13145, Properties Unlimited-redev dist 1411.42, Rob’s oil-fuel 2414.47, S2-clean up day 4725, Solomon-attorney fees 1500, Stomp-library programs 375, UECO-supplies 53.01, Verizon-cell 245.52, Veseris-mosquito supplies 842.60, Visa-meg supplies 2249.70, Vrba-repairs 12380

The following motions were approved:

 

- To approve Resolution 06-10-24-01, to approve SDL for 8/23 at the Memorial Park tennis court at 7th Street and Jefferson Street

- To approve Resolution 06-10-24-02, to approve Waterloo Days street closures

- To approve Resolution 06-10-24-03, to approve Village sponsoring Waterloo Days firework show

 

A hearing was opened at 7:25pm for a Final Subdivision Plat by Jason Porto for Elkhorn Acres Lot 2. No public input was heard. The hearing closed at 7:26pm

 

- To approve Final Subdivision Plat

 

A hearing was opened at 7:26pm for a variance application submitted by Taylor Jensen at 23809 Oak St to put 6ft fence past back property line to line up with neighbors’ fences. Rotert discussed his concern with visibility at that intersection and Sass explained the fact that anytime exceptions are made, they need to make sure they can be consistent with future requests. The hearing closed at 7:38pm

 

- To permit rear fence line to be placed on Village property and the side fence be placed on the lot line contingent on signing of a memorandum of understanding and insurance naming the Village as additionally insured

- To approve the firework application submitted by Kracklin’ Kirk

- To approve Resolution 06-10-24-01, approve street closure request by Russel Luschen to close Lincoln Ave from 605 Lincoln to 7th Street on July 4, 2024 from 4pm to midnight

- To approve Resolution 06-10-24-05, approve Interlocal Agreement with Waterloo Rural Fire District

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:53pm. The next regular meeting is scheduled for July 8, 2024 at 7:00pm.
