UNO Criminal Justice Event Invites Women to Explore Careers

The University of Nebraska at Omaha School of Criminology and Criminal Justice is hosting a networking event for women in criminal justice on March 31.
The Uniting Women in Criminal Justice event will kick off with a keynote address from FBI Omaha’s recently appointed Special Agent in Charge Kristi Koons Johnson. Networking will follow.
Local, state and federal law enforcement agencies will be in attendance. The networking opportunity is meant to assist high schoolers, college students and women within the community in learning more about criminal justice agencies and job opportunities. Attendees will have an opportunity to talk with women in the criminal justice field.
Our research finds that direct interactions with professionals in the field are especially important for motivating women to pursue careers such as law enforcement,” said UNO’s Samantha Clinkinbeard.
The event will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the UNO College of Public Affairs and Community Service. Refreshments and light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Criminal justice agencies can reserve a free table at the event. There is no cost for attendance for students or the public.
