State Chamber’s Economic Development Summit Inspired By Blueprint Nebraska
This year’s Economic Development Summit sponsored by the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce & Industry will focus on tactics to achieve goals identified by the Blueprint Nebraska initiative.
The conference, planned for Thursday at Lincoln’s downtown Embassy Suites, will feature keynotes from Michael Dixon, president and CEO of UNeMed Corp. at the University of Nebraska Medical Center; Jim Smith, executive director of Blueprint Nebraska; Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts; and Bryan Slone, president of the state chamber.
“The power of the Blueprint Nebraska process and report is in the action it inspires – in our communities, businesses, government and schools,” Slone said. “The Nebraska Chamber is inspired. We reshaped our summit to bring public and private sector partners to the table in search of big ideas that keep our state competitive in skilled labor, investment and economic growth.”
Breakout sessions will explore customized workforce solutions, economic incentives, community revitalization and fueling innovation through technology. In addition, the University of Nebraska – Lincoln Bureau of Business Research will present its Nebraska Thriving Index in the afternoon.
Costs for the summit are $100 for members and $130 for nonmembers. To register or find a complete schedule of speakers, visit web.nechamber.com/events.
