Gov. Pete Ricketts is telling counties to reopen their courthouses and offices to the public on a nonappointment basis – “basically, business as usual” – by June 15 if they want coronavirus relief funding.
Counties failing to meet that deadline won’t be eligable for reimbursements from the federal CARES Act, Ricketts announced at a news conference.
“If counties want to make a different choice, we’re going to reserve the money for counties who are going to be looking to serve the public in a full way,” Ricketts said last Wednesday.
Ricketts had initially set a deadline of June 8.
