Omaha Police Graduates 33 Field Training Officers From Academy

The Omaha Police Department graduated a class of 33 recruits and two Omaha Fire Department arson investigators in late April.

The class graduated the Omaha Police Training Academy and entered their field training officer phase. A formal graduation was postponed due to limitations related to the coronavirus.

Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert said in late May that the city may cancel fire and police recruit classes if it doesn’t receive enough relief funding related to the pandemic. The police and fire departments could also see their staffing reduced

The two OFD arson investigators who graduated were Kerry Benedict and John Farmer Jr.

The April OPD graduates are:
