NOTICE OF ELECTION
WESTSIDE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS ELECTION

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the 9th day of May, 2023 in the Westside Community School District, Douglas County, Nebraska, a special election will be held. The election will be by mail; therefore, no polling places will be open for voting. Said election will be held for the registered voters of Douglas County who reside within the Westside Community School District who will approve or reject the following proposition:
PROPOSITION
“Shall Douglas County School District No. 66 (Westside Community Schools), in the State of Nebraska (the “District”) issue general obligation bonds of the District in an aggregate stated principal amount not to exceed One Hundred Twenty-One Million Dollars ($121,000,000), for the purpose of financing the costs of the following: continued safety and security enhancements; improving technology infrastructure of existing school buildings; and constructing capital improvements, additions, renovations, and replacements of existing school buildings and furnishing and equipping the same; such bonds to be issued from time to time, to be sold at such price or prices, to bear interest at such rate or rates, to become due at such time or times and to have such other terms and provisions, all as may be fixed and determined by the Board of Education of the District; and
“Shall the District cause to be levied and collected annually a special levy of taxes against all the taxable property in the District sufficient in rate and amount to pay the principal of, the premium, if any, and the interest on such Bonds as the same become due?”

By-Mail Election
This election will be an election by mail. All registered voters currently residing within the Westside Community School District will receive their ballot by mail, and therefore, no polling places will be open for voting. Ballots will be mailed by the Douglas County Election Commission between Monday, April 17 and Friday, April 28, 2023.
Voter Registration Deadlines
• The deadline to register to vote online, at an agency, with a deputy registrar, or by mail is Friday, April 21, 2023.
• The deadline for in-person registration at the election office is Friday, April 28, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.
Replacement Ballots
Voters who did not receive or made a mistake on their by-mail ballot may request a replacement to be mailed; requests must be received in writing by Friday, April 28, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. Contact the Election Commission at (402) 444-VOTE (8683) to request a replacement ballot application. Completed applications may be delivered to an official ballot drop box that is available for this election, mailed or delivered to 12220 W Center Road, Omaha, NE 68144, faxed to (402) 444-4181, or a clear picture or scan of the completed form may be emailed to early.voting@douglascounty-ne.gov. Replacement ballots may not be requested by telephone.
Replacement ballots may be issued at the Douglas County Election Office until Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.
Ballot Return Deadline
• All voted ballots must be received by the Douglas County Election Commission no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.
• Voted ballots must be delivered or mailed to the Douglas County Election Commission at 12220 W Center Road, Omaha, Nebraska 68144 or placed in a Douglas County Election Commission official ballot drop box. Drop box locations available for this election are as follows:
