PUBLIC NOTICE
The Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA), in coordination with Sarpy County and the Cities of Gretna and Papillion, is developing the Sarpy County I-80 Planning & Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study to determine if a new interchange along Interstate 80 is needed in Sarpy County south and west of Nebraska Highway 370 and Nebraska Highway 50.
The public can view and comment on potential improvement alternatives for six locations, including the intersections of I-80 with Pflug Road, Platteview Road, 204th Street and Fairview Road, 192nd Street and Capehart Road, 180th Street, and 168th Street and Schram Road, at mapacog.org/sarpypel.
The public comment period runs July 11 through August 10, 2022.
The Sarpy County I-80 Interchange PEL Study began during Summer 2020 and will continue through 2022. It has been evaluating the need for transportation improvements to relieve problems at the existing interchanges of Nebraska Highways 370 and 31 along I-80 in Sarpy County south and west of N-370 and N-50, which is a high-growth area. If Western Sarpy needs a new interchange, the study will explore and evaluate locations for it.
