PUBLIC NOTICE

 

The Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA) seeks public comment on an amendment to its 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP).  The public comment period runs from July 6, 2023, to Aug. 4, 2023.

The amendment will add regional streetscape projects and a safety project to the plan and will update construction costs for several other projects included already in the plan.

The amendment includes several streetscape projects such as:

 

•   Omaha’s North 24th Street Streetscape improvements

•   Omaha’s Blackstone District Streetscape improvements

•   City of Bellevue’s Mission Avenue Streetscape project

 

The amendment also includes a Nebraska Department of Transportation-sponsored safety project.

Updates to construction costs for the following projects are included too:

 

•   Gretna to Wehrspann Trail

•   Bellevue’s 36th Street Phase II

•   U.S. Hwy 34 Bike & Walking Trail Phase 2

•   Grouped Projects – Nebraska Planning

 

The public comment period includes an open house on July 20, 2023, from 4-6 p.m. at MAPA offices located at 2222 Cuming St., Omaha, NE 68102. The public may attend at any time during the two-hour period.
