PUBLIC NOTICE

MAPA

The Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA) is hosting an online input opportunity for its Regional Freight Plan to gather feedback on challenges facing the region’s multimodal freight network, such as infrastructure condition, bottlenecks, safety, and the flow of freight.

The online public is available at engage.mapacog.org/regional-freight-plan. Attendees will get information about the plan development and have the opportunity to provide feedback through a survey and comment map.

Ultimately, the Regional Freight Plan will provide strategies to enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability by minimizing impacts of goods moving (e.g. by trucks and trains) through our communities. The plan will identify opportunities to support the freight industry in Cass, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties in Nebraska, and Mills and Pottawattamie counties in Iowa also. The Regional Freight Plan is developed through a data-driven process and will provide a roadmap for prioritizing infrastructure improvements.

The input received in this public meeting will be used to identify challenges that the Regional Freight Plan should address. Comments will be accepted on the project website at engage.mapacog.org/regional-freight-plan through August 10, 2026.
