The registration deadline is fast approaching for the Omaha Bar Association’s annual Field Day.

Registrations are due Saturday, July 13, for the event, which will be held Monday, July 22, at the Champions Run golf course.

Field Day features a social hour, dinner and a golf tournament, as well as tennis, trap shooting and access to the clubhouse pool.

New this year will be a lawn game pentathlon made up of ladder golf, lawn pong, cornhole, bocce and giant Jenga.

“We like to think we have something for everyone to relax, enjoy the day, and ease into the last full week of July,” said Dave Sommers, executive director of the Omaha Bar Association.

The reception begins at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6:15 p.m. Judge J. Michael Coffey will be the master of ceremonies, and a representative of the Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority will give a presentation of the future of big sports in Omaha.

“It should be an informative discussion you won’t want to miss,” Sommers said in an email.

Tickets for the reception and dinner are $30 for OBA members and $35 for non-OBA members. OBA dues must be paid by July 15 to participate in Field Day.

Golf is $99 for OBA members and includes lunch. Golf is $155 for non-members, which are limited to 20 total with only one guest per member and two per foursome.

The golf tournament begins at noon with a shotgun start. A hole-in-one prize is offered at the 12th hole. Mulligans, “gimme string” and long drive assistance are all available for sale. The tournament is a traditional four-player scramble format. The winning team will receive a championship belt, and prizes are offered on each hole.

Check in at the registration desk by 11:40 a.m. Locker rooms will be open, as well as the range, and a beer cart will be offered. Turn in scores with first and last names at the pro shop. To reserve a golf spot, contact Sommers at dave@omahabarassociation.com or register on the OBA website.

Tennis matches begin at 10 a.m. Balls will be provided, and partners will be assigned to play doubles matches. Contact Joe Bradley at 402-213-1803 for court reservations.

Trap shooting is offered 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Harry A. Koch Trap Range at Seymour Smith Park at 72nd and Harrison streets. Drop in at any time. Cost is $5 per round with 25 targets per round. Shells are available for $8 a box. To RSVP, contact Kara Stockdale at kstockdale@bairdholm.com.

The lawn games will begin at 3:30 p.m. outside the Champions Run clubhouse. The person with the most victories by 5:15 p.m. will be crowned the champion.

The clubhouse pool is available for event attendees.
