LAW DAY REFLECTIONS: Robert D. Mullin Jr.

The fundamental principle of Rule of Law suggests that all citizens are subject to and account-able under the law.  Basically, it means that laws apply equally to everyone in a democracy, including public officials and elected leaders.  If we did not have Rule of Law, imagine how chaotic your community might be?

Foundation President Robert D. Mullin Jr. comments that “The rule of law functions because most of us agree that it is imperative to follow laws every day.   A society based on the Rule of Law can-not function if the citizens do not respect the laws.”

The Nebraska State Bar Foundation is committed to providing civics education to Nebraska teachers and students.  The legal profession has the opportunity to model civic responsibility and engagement by actively being involved in civics education.
