Douglas County Health Department

If you live in Douglas County and want to be tested for COVID-19, the Douglas County Health Department has some suggestions for you. All these options are free.

You can go to TestNebraska.com to complete an assessment and arrange for an appointment at a drive-through testing site offered through the State of Nebraska.

Once you are registered, you can go to the Crossroads Mall at 72nd and Dodge streets. The test site is next to the former Sears Automotive Center on the west end of the property. Test hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Another option with Test Nebraska is at Oakview Mall, south of 144th Street and West Center Road. This testing site also is near a former Sears Automotive Center. Its hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Visiting Nurse Association at 12565 West Center Road offers testing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. until noon. Registration is required. Call (402) 342-5566 for details.

Drive-thru testing at 50th and G streets has been offered Tuesdays through Thursdays from 1 to 5 p.m. or until 300 tests have been used daily.

As of last Tuesday, the Douglas County Health Department had reported 12,236 cases of COVID-19 since the outbreak began in March.

The total number of deaths in the county related to the pandemic now totals 145. The county has confirmed 8,257 county residents have recovered from the illness.

As of Tuesday, metro area hospitals had 250 medical and surgical beds available for an 82% occupancy rate. There were 109 inpatients diagnosed with COVID-19 and 24 additional persons of interest. Fifteen people who were confirmed or suspected of having COVID-19 were on ventilators.
