Federal Court Public Counters Now Closed
The public counters for the U.S. District Court of Nebraska in the Omaha and Lincoln courthouses closed this week as a precaution due to the pandemic.
Chief Judge Robert F. Rossiter Jr. approved closing the counters at the Roman L. Hruska Federal Courthouse and Robert V. Denney Federal Building effective Monday. Assistance has instead been offered by telephone or email.
A drop box at each of the two courthouses allow for documents that cannot be filed electronically or by mail to be submitted. Items are collected daily.
Cash, however, isn’t being accepted, and money in any form shouldn’t be left in the drop boxes. Cash won’t return until normal operations resume.
Contact the U.S. District Court Clerk’s Office at 866-220-4381 in Omaha, 886-221-4379 in Lincoln or send an email to ecfhelp@ned.uscourts.gov.
Checks and money orders can be mailed to 111 S. 18th Plaza, Suite 1152, Omaha, NE 68102.
