Employers Encouraged to Take Steps to Slow Spread of Virus
Nebraska businesses are being asked to do their part to halt the spread of the virus – including keeping sick workers at home.
“This is a communitywide response, so we want businesses to be prepared to be engaged as well,” Gov. Pete Ricketts said at a news conference last Friday.
Ricketts asked business to be flexible with hours and work-at-home options, especially as parents have to stay home.
Bryan Slone, president of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce & Industry, said businesses need to take care of their workforce, including by promoting a sanitary and safe workplace.
“There is not going to be a one-size-fits-all solution for businesses, but it is important that they have a continuity plan,” he said.
