Eighth Circuit Court to Hear Oral Arguments in Omaha

The U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments for cases in Omaha next week, Nov. 11-15, including a special session at the Creighton University School of Law.

Court will be held next Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at the Roman L. Hruska Federal Courthouse, as well as Wednesday at Creighton Law’s Gross Appellate Courtroom. The court will also consider cases Monday without oral arguments.

Judges Raymond W. Gruender of St. Louis, Missouri, Jane Kelly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Ralph R. Erickson of Fargo, North Dakota will conduct the hearings.

Next Tuesday, the court will hear arguments on John Brown Jr. v. Dexter Payne (18-2873), Tina Jimerson v. Dexter Payne (18-3174), Amanda Gibson v. Concrete Equipment Co. (18-3009), Sobura Lasu v. William P. Barr (18-3550) and Fleet Truck Sales v. Celadon Group et al. (18-3597) beginning at 9 a.m.

Next Wednesday, the court will hear arguments on Quinton Harris et al. v. Union Pacific Railroad Co. et al. (19-1514), Tonia Ackerman et al. v. U-Park (19-1814) and Middendorf Sports v. Top Rank (19-1890) beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Creighton Law.

Next Thursday, the court will hear arguments on Brendan Holbein v. Baxter Chrysler Jeep et al. (18-2892), Prudencia Galloso et al. v. William P. Barr (18-2812), Megan McGuire v. Timothy F. Dunning (18-2809), Estate of Joyce Rosamond Petersen v. William E. Bitters (18-3596), Estate of Joyce Rosamond Petersen v. Robert Boland Jr. et al. (18-3600) and David McConnell v. Anixter (18-3230) at 9 a.m.

Next Friday, the court will hear arguments on United States v. Sherman Johnson Jr. (18-2929), United States v. Sarkis Labachyan (18-3156), United States v. Jorge Navarrete (18-3170), Zachary Love v. United States (18-3457) and Zoila Garcia v. William P. Barr (18-3201) at 8:30 a.m.
