The Douglas County Election Commission has mailed early voting ballot applications on green postcards to voters.
The postcards were mailed to registered voters who signed up to be on the early voting request list, according to a news release. Voters must complete and sign the application portion of the mailing and return it to the Election Commission to receive a ballot by mail.
Ballots will not be automatically sent to voters who receive the postcard mailing or who requested a by-mail ballot for previous elections. Applications may be returned via ballot drop box, postal mail, email or fax.
“Using the card provided assists my office in processing applications for by-mail ballots more efficiently, and we appreciate voters using the card and returning it to a ballot drop box when possible,” said Douglas County Election Commissioner Brian W. Kruse.
The first day ballots will be mailed is April 4, 2022. The deadline to submit a request for an early voting ballot to be mailed for the primary election is May 2 at 6 p.m.
