Notice is hereby given that on Monday, August 21, 2023, the Board of Trustees for the Douglas County Health Center and the Community Mental Health Center will meet on at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Douglas County Health Center, 4102 Woolworth Ave, Town Hall, Omaha, Nebraska 68105 and is also available via Zoom. The meeting will be open to the general public.
The meeting agendas, kept continually current, are readily available for public inspection in the Administrator’s Office in the Douglas County Health Center during normal business hours. Also available for public inspection will be any corresponding documentation that is provided to the Administrator’s Office prior to the monthly Board Meeting. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only when the meeting is in session.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Douglas County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on August 22, 2023, as required by Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, with respect to the proposed financing or refinancing of the hereinafter described facilities and equipment pursuant to a plan of financing under which the Hospital Authority No. 2 of Douglas County, Nebraska (the “Authority”) will issue one or more series of revenue bonds or financing lease obligations in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $25,000,000 (collectively, the “Obligations”) for the benefit of The Nebraska Medical Center, a Nebraska nonprofit corporation doing business as Nebraska Medicine (the “Borrower”). The proceeds of the Obligations will be used by the Borrower to finance, refinance or reimburse a portion of the capital expenditures and costs associated with the acquisition, construction, equipping and furnishing of, and renovations, additions and improvements to, the hospital, health care and related facilities and equipment owned and operated by the Borrower, including:
(1) such facilities and equipment located on the Borrower’s main campus, within the area bounded by the streets beginning at 38th Avenue and Leavenworth Street, from 38th Avenue west to 46th Avenue, north to Dodge Street, east to 42nd Street, south to Harney Street, east to 38th Avenue and south to Leavenworth Street, in Omaha, Nebraska; and
(2) such facilities and equipment located at one or more of the following locations:

THE OBLIGATIONS WILL NOT CONSTITUTE AN INDEBTEDNESS OF THE STATE OF NEBRASKA NOR DOUGLAS COUNTY, NEBRASKA NOR A GENERAL OBLIGATION OF THE AUTHORITY.
The hearing will commence at 9:00 a.m., on August 22, 2023, or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, and will be held in the Legislative Chamber, Omaha-Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska. Interested persons wishing to express their views on the Authority issuing the Obligations or on the nature of the facilities and equipment proposed to be financed or refinanced will be given an opportunity to do so at the public hearing or may, prior to the time of the hearing, submit written comments to Daniel A. Esch, Douglas County Clerk, Omaha-Douglas Civic Center, Room H08, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183.
