Notice of Public Meeting of the Committee to Appoint Douglas County Commissioner for District 1
Notice is hereby given that on Friday, October 22, 2021, the Committee to Appoint Douglas County Commissioner for District 1, will convene at 8:55 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Omaha-Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam, Legislative Chambers, Omaha, NE. If necessary, a special meeting will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Omaha-Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam, Room 702, Omaha, NE. The meetings will be open to the general public.
The Committee will meet to interview applicants and take action to appoint the District 1 Douglas County Commissioner.
The meeting agenda, kept continually current, will be readily available for public inspection in the County Clerk/Comptroller’s Office in the Civic Center during normal business hours. Also available for public inspection will be any corresponding documentation that is provided to the Committee prior to the meeting. Except for items of an emergency nature, the agendas shall not be enlarged later than 24 hours before the scheduled meeting commencement. The Committee has the right to modify its agenda to include items of an emergency nature only when the meeting is in session.

The North Omaha “Turnback Tax” Grant Committee will hold a virtual public hearing on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. The event can be accessed via Zoom (link below). The public hearing will be held to receive public comment on grant proposals that 1) showcase important historical aspects, or 2) assist with the reduction of street and gang violence, or 3) assist with small business and entrepreneurship growth within defined areas within North Omaha.
