Douglas County Officials Meet with SID Presidents
Douglas County held a listening session for sanitary and improvement district presidents last Thursday, soliciting feedback about concerns on services.
The meeting also provided an overview of Douglas County government and county operations for the SID presidents.
“We’ve heard there’s an interest in understanding the role of Douglas County departments and officials and we want to offer an opportunity to educate our residents,” Chief Deputy Wayne Hudson of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said. “We want to offer transparency to our residents and help them understand who they can call or what they need to do when they have questions or concerns.”
Commissioner Mary Ann Borgeson, who chairs the county board, said the meeting offered an opportunity to discuss everything impacting residents.
The session was hosted by Bennington Fire & Rescue. Other scheduled speakers at the meeting were Commissioners Ann Borgeson and Mike Friend, Sheriff Tom Wheeler, Engineering Manager Dan Kutilek, County Treasure John Ewing, Assessor/Register of Deeds Diane Battiato and County Attorney Don Kleine.
