Douglas County Hires New Crime Scene Investigator
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office recently hired a new crime scene investigator.
Angela Sue Moore is a native of Omaha who has worked as an analytical chemist, environmental analyst and laboratory manager.
Moore graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2001 with a degree in chemistry and earned a master’s degree in forensic science from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2005.
Moore spent the last 12 years working for the Newport, Virginia, Police Department, where she was a senior forensic technician.
In 2011, Moore attended the National Forensic Academy in Tennessee and qualified as a certified crime scene investigator through the International Association for Identification.
Moore has taught bloodstain pattern analysis courses to various local law enforcement agencies, the U.S. Air Force, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and the Tidewater Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
In addition, Moore has worked hundreds of major crime scenes, including mass fatality incidents and federal cases.
