Paul Anderson did not respond to The Daily Record’s request to complete a questionnaire.
Four years ago, Anderson withdrew from the Omaha City Council race after the fallout from critical comments he made about the construction of a mosque on the campus of the Tri-Faith Initiative, resulting his a lost endorsement from the Douglas County Republican Party.
“I am going to keep running until the people elect me. I will be their representative, I will not be a puppet of the powerbrokers,” Anderson told KETV earlier this month.
Anderson told KETV he wants to prohibit anyone who does business with the city from donating to council and mayoral candidates. Anderson told The Omaha World-Herald that he would seek the abolition of the restaurant and wheel taxes.
“I also would like to bring about term limits for City Hall,” he told the newspaper. “And hopefully make improvements to the police and firefighters retirement fund.”
