CITY OF OMAHA

INVITATION TO BID

Sealed bids are invited and will be received on or before 11:00 a.m, on Wednesday, May 26,2021, as per specifications on file in the office of the Douglas County Purchasing Agent.  These documents may also be found at www.douglascountypurchasing.org.

Sealed bids should be addressed to Elizabeth Butler, City Clerk, 1819 Farnam Street, LC 1 - Omaha Douglas Civic Center, Omaha, NE  68183 and marked BID ON:

Rock Salt (2021-2022)

and must be on file in his office on or before 11:00 a.m., on the bid opening date at which time the bids will be opened and read by the City Clerk before the Bid Opening Committee and the public in LC 4, Omaha Douglas Civic Center.

As evidence of good faith and guarantee that a contract will be entered into should an award be made thereon, a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid must accompany the bid.  Failure to do so will be cause for rejection. 

The City of Omaha and Douglas County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.

Sealed bids for the renovation/construction of the City of Omaha - MILLER PARK MAINTENANCE BUILDING, 2707 REDICK AVENUE, are invited and will be received on or before the bid opening date, as per the project’s specifications.

Sealed bids to be addressed to Elizabeth Butler, City Clerk, LC-1, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, marked “BID ON:  City of Omaha - MILLER PARK MAINTENANCE BUILDING”, must be in her office on or before 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, JUNE 9, 2021, at which time the bids will be opened and read by the City Clerk before the Bid Opening Committee and the public in LC-4, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center.

Plans and Specifications may be examined and obtained at the offices of the following printers:   A&D Technical Supply Co., Inc., 4320 South 89th Street, Omaha, NE 68127 (402-592-4950), on or after Wednesday, MAY 19, 2021.  Bidders may view the contract documents (plans & specifications, etc.) on the project free of charge from their websites.  Electronic or hard copy prints of all contract documents may be obtained by contacting them directly and placing an order.  All costs for contract document production will be directly billed by the printer to the requesting company and not to the issuer of this bidding opportunity.  Potential bidders may receive special pricing for the printing of hard copies of the contract documents.  Contact the printer for the cost associated with your request.

There will be a non-mandatory, pre-bid meeting on Friday, May 28, 2021, at 1:30 pm.  The meeting will be held at the project site in Miller Park, 2707 Redick Avenue.  Meeting will be held rain or shine.

General Contractor shall self-perform with its own workforce a minimum of thirty percent (30%) of the total cost of the Contract.  Purchasing of materials does not qualify as self-performing the Work.

This project has an SEB reserve for ESB and SB Tier 1 & 2 categories for 10% of the total bid amount.  For additional information see Specification Section 00200, ‘Instructions to Bidders”, Part 2.16, “Utilization of Small and Emerging Small Business”.

As evidence of good faith and guarantee that contract will be entered into should award be made thereon, a bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid must accompany bid.  The bid bond or certified check shall be made payable to the “City of Omaha”.  Failure to do so will be cause for rejection.  City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in whole or in part, and the bidders shall have the right to appeal any decision to the City Council.

        USB Flash Drive) of their entire proposal.
