Sealed bids are invited and will be received on or before the opening time, 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, as per specifications on file in the office of the Douglas County Purchasing Agent. These documents may also be found at www.douglascountypurchasing.org.
Sealed bids should be addressed to Elizabeth Butler, City Clerk, 1819 Farnam Street, LC 1 - Omaha Douglas Civic Center, Omaha, NE 68183 and marked BID ON:

and must be on file in her office on or before 11:00 a.m., on the bid opening date at which time the bids will be opened and read by the City Clerk before the Bid Opening Committee and the public in LC 4, Omaha Douglas Civic Center.
As evidence of good faith and guarantee that a contract will be entered into should an award be made thereon, a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid must accompany the bid. Failure to do so will be cause for rejection.
Douglas County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that Douglas County, Nebraska shall receive sealed bids on a Construction Contract including replacement of a diesel generator at the Douglas County West Boiler House, at 156th & West Maple Road, Omaha, Nebraska; that said bids shall be received by the Owner until 11:00 a.m. central time on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 to the attention of the City of Omaha Clerk, Douglas County Civic Center, LC1 Offices, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids will be opened at the regularly scheduled Bid Opening meeting in the Legislative Chambers after submission of Bids on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
Bids must be on a Sum basis and shall be in accord with the Instructions to Bidders.
Materials to be incorporated into the complete project shall be purchased tax exempt in the name of the Owner, and the Bidder shall exclude from his Bid all State of Nebraska and Local Option Sales and Use Tax for such materials in accordance with the General and Supplementary Conditions of the Contract for Construction.
A Pre-Bid Conference, tour of the Boiler House and Fitzgerald building will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 156th & West Maple Road, Omaha, Nebraska. All Bidders and sub-bidders are strongly encouraged to be present. There is no other time scheduled to allow bidder access to the area. A mask will be required for use during the conference and walkthrough.
Questions and substitution requests must be submitted in writing and received to bidquestions@douglascounty-ne.gov no later than Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Items received after this date will not be considered. Addenda will not be issued after Friday, November 11, 2022.
Bidding documents may be examined at the office of the Engineer, MORRISSEY ENGINEERING, 4940 N. 118th STREET, OMAHA, NEBRASKA 68164, with advanced notice, and at the following exchanges after Wednesday, October 26, 2022:

Bidders may obtain Bidding Documents at the office of the printer, A&D Technical Supply, 4320 South 89th Street, Omaha, Nebraska, 68127, (402) 592-4950 between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 12:00 noon and 1:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. The Bid Documents, and any subsequent addenda, will be issued in PDF format by A&D at a cost of $25. Hard copy prints will be issued as requested, and at the bidder’s own expense. Plans and Plan-holder lists can be viewed online at www.adtechplans.com.
There are no guarantees to accuracy of bidding documents examined or obtained through any other source than the above listed.
Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accord with the Instructions to Bidders.
A bid bond executed by a duly authorized surety and in appropriate form may be submitted in lieu of the deposit of money or certified check. All deposits of money, certified checks or bid bonds must be submitted in separate sealed envelopes plainly identified. The deposit money, certified check or bid bond will be held as surety as to assure that the bidder will enter into a contract and furnish the required performance and payment bonds. The bid security should be made payable to Douglas County Treasurer. The deposit money, certified checks or bids bonds of the unsuccessful bidders shall be returned as soon as the successful bidder is determined. The deposit of money, certified check or bid bond of the successful bidder shall be returned upon the execution of the contract documents.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive informalities or irregularities in the bidding.
