NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Ralston, Nebraska, will be held at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in the Council Chambers at Ralston City Hall, 5500 S. 77th Street, Ralston, NE. An agenda, which is kept continuously current is available for public inspection at the office of the City Clerk at City Hall.

RALSTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Tuesday, September 5, 2023
The complete minutes are on file in the office of the City Clerk and are available for public inspection during regular business hours or on the City’s website at www.cityofralston.com.
The Ralston City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 5:30 PM at Ralston City Hall. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll was called with the following present: Mayor Groesser, Council members Brousek, Kavanaugh, Preis, and Fideline. Absent: Kjar and Krause.
The agenda was available at City Hall for public inspection and posted prior to the meeting. The legal notice for the meeting was published in the Daily Record. Claims listed are approved and part of these minutes.
Mayor Groesser gave the invocation. Mayor Groesser said the meeting is subject to the Nebraska Open Meetings Act. A copy of the Act is posted at the rear of the Council Chambers and is available to view on the City’s website at www.cityofralston.com.
The City Council reviewed the following items under the consent agenda. Approval of City Council Minutes from August 15th Council Meeting and Budget Work Session; Approval of Claims; Liberty First Credit Union Arena Financial Statements for period ending July 31, 2023; Department Head and/or Commission Reports. Moved and seconded to approve the Consent Agenda. Aye: Preis, Kavanaugh, Brousek, and Fideline. Nay: None. Absent: Kjar and Krause. Motion carried.
Freshman stated that Ralston High School is having their first softball game on the new fields tonight. Dittmer distributed his monthly report. Mayor Groesser asked when the work at 84th and Q Street will be completed. Dittmer responded that he does not know. Dittmer said the work is being done by MUD and they are behind schedule by a few weeks. Bohling reported that the city has received the fourth payment for the 779 turnback tax. The draft of the budget is completed and will be available on the city website. Leonardo gave the August traffic update. Peña reported that the library has joined in the American Labor Day Celebration which is being celebrated nationwide. Hoppe reported that year to date the fire department has had four hundred ninety one calls. Roeder noted that Yoga has been extended thru September. Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00 a.m. Tunes on the Granary Green will be on Thursday September 21st. Engberg reported that fifty two building permits were issued in the month of August. Hoppe reported that a grant application has been submitted to the Nebraska Games and Park Commission for Land and Water Conservation Fund for Adams Park.
Mayor Groesser opened consideration of an agreement between KMS&K Enterprises Inc and the City of Ralston. Moved and seconded approval of an agreement between KMS&K Enterprises Inc and the City of Ralston. Aye: Preis, Kavanaugh, Brousek, and Fideline. Nay: None. Absent: Kjar and Krause. Motion carried.
Brousek introduced Resolution 2023-10. Kelly read resolution 2023-10 by title only: DECLARING EQUIPMENT SURPLUS Moved and seconded to approve resolution 2023-10. Aye: Preis, Kavanaugh, Brousek, and Fideline. Nay: None. Absent: Kjar and Krause. Motion carried.
Public Comment: None. Council Comment: Groesser thanked public works, the police department and Roeder for their work with the Shriners parade.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at 5:44 PM. The next meeting is Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 5:00 PM.
