PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on September 26, 2023, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:
An ordinance to amend Sections 55-33, 55-68, 55-207, 55-227, 55-306, 55-324, 55-346, 55-364, 55-383, 55-404, 55-423, 55-444, 55-718, 55-829 and 55-890 of the Omaha Municipal Code regarding Assisted living permitted districts, Duplex residential lot width in R5/R6 zoning, correction of an error for maximum wall sign area in AG/DR zoning, and clarification to the Townhouse residential definition, Tree planting, and other applicable fees with an application.
An ordinance to authorize payment to the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) for professional services to perform DNA testing needed by the Omaha Police Department, for a period of up to five years from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2028, involving the payment of money from appropriations of more than one (1) fiscal year in accordance with Sections 5.16 and 5.17 of the Omaha Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended; to provide for the payment to the University of Nebraska Medical Center approximately $240,000.00 a year, for an estimated total of $1,200,000.00.
An ordinance (1) to approve an agreement between the City of Omaha and the Nebraska Medical Center in the amount of $734,235.00; and (2) to authorize funding for such agreement from the City of Omaha’s FY 2022 Community-Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative Grant, Award #15PBJA-22-GG-04731-CVIP, awarded by the Office of Justice Programs; provide funding for two (2) violence intervention specialists, one (1) educator, one (1) social worker, fringe benefits, office supplies, and indirect costs as part of the Engaging Networks within the Community of Omaha to Maintain and Promote a Safe Society (ENCOMPASS) Omaha project; involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter.

NOTICE TO PUBLIC
The City Council of the City of Omaha will have a Pre-Council Meeting at 10:30 A.M. in Conference Room 702, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, for the purpose of discussing the agenda items and briefing and discussion of public business; and a regular Council Meeting at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, in the Legislative Chambers of the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center in Omaha, Nebraska. This meeting will have video conference capability. Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the City Clerk, but the Council shall have the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting when convened. The video conference details and an agenda for the meeting is posted on the City of Omaha website at www.cityofomaha.org.
