Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Omaha met on June 11, 2024 and passed and approved the following ordinances:

 

ORDINANCE NO. 43861

AN ORDINANCE to amend the official zoning map of the City of Omaha adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code, by changing certain boundaries of the official zoning map of the City of Omaha in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code, to rezone property located northwest of 156th and State Streets from AG-Agricultural District to DR-Development Reserve District.

Summary: The official zoning map adopted by Section 55-65 of the Omaha Municipal Code be, and the same hereby is, changed and amended in accordance with Section 55-886 of the Omaha Municipal Code so that: Outlots C-E, Hanover Falls Center, a subdivision as surveyed, platted and recorded in Douglas County, Nebraska, is hereby rezoned from AG-Agricultural District to DR-Development Reserve District.

AN ORDINANCE to approve the acceptance of and authorize disbursement over more than one fiscal year from the Executive Office of the President, Office of National Drug Control Policy Grant Agreement #G24MW0008A in the amount of five hundred thirty-six thousand four hundred fifty eight dollars ($536,458), during the project period extending from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025 to support initiatives designed to implement the Strategy proposed by the Executive Board of the Midwest HIDTA including the Greater Omaha Safe Streets Taskforce, Omaha ATF Illegal Firearms Taskforce, Omaha DEA Drug Task Force, Omaha Metro Drug Task Force, and Management and Coordination; to authorize payment from such grant funding and involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter; and, providing for the effective date hereof.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on June 25, 2024, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:

 

An ordinance declaring the necessity of acquiring, for use by the City of Omaha, the necessary private property for the purpose of the Omaha Streetcar Project, identified as OPW 54338; providing that the City negotiate with the property owners for land acquisitions, permanent easements and temporary construction easements; providing that as to each specified parcel which cannot be obtained by negotiation, condemnation proceedings be undertaken and completed.

 

An ordinance vacating the east-west alley between Hickory Street and William Street, from 11th Street to its eastern terminus, in the City of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska.

 

An ordinance approving a redevelopment and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Redevelopment Agreement between the City of Omaha and Omaha Economic Development Corporation, to implement the Community Innovation Campus Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Redevelopment Project Plan for a redevelopment project site located at 1127 North 20th Street, which proposes to rehabilitate a vacant 19,060 square foot building for use as a community kitchen and dietary call center. The kitchen will serve the community nutrition needs of CHI’s existing health care facilities; the agreement authorizes the use of up to $385,000.00, which includes capitalized interest, in excess ad valorem taxes (TIF) generated by the development to help fund the cost of the project.

 

An ordinance to approve an Amendment to the Agreement which amends Article 41 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Omaha and the Omaha Police Officers Association by adding specialty pay for certain Captain positions; to provide that any ordinances of the City of Omaha, and any rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, which are in conflict with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement shall not be applicable to those employees in the Bargaining Unit described in Article 1, Section 1, of said Collective Bargaining Agreement; to provide authorization for the Mayor to execute and the City Clerk to attest her signature.

 

An ordinance to establish, pursuant to Section 40-251 of the Omaha Municipal Code, a Class “B” Flammable Liquids Storage District to be known as District No. B-221 at 6730 Wenninghoff Road, as requested by Sam Gregg.

 

An ordinance extending the limits of the City of Omaha over certain land in Douglas County, Nebraska, and incorporating the same into and making the same a part of the City of Omaha, located southeast of 180th and West Maple Road.
