PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on January 10, 2023, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:
An ordinance vacating the east-west alley lying west of 75th Street and east of Lot 8, Block 73, Benson Addition, City of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, abutting Lots 1-12, Block 2, Benson Addition, Subdivision of Acre Lots 1, 2, 9, and 10 of Block 73, in the City of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska; providing for the reversion or transfer of the same.
An ordinance approving an amendment to a grant award contract with the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources for the Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Program, involving the payment of money from appropriations of more than one year in accordance with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter of 1956, as amended; to authorize the increase of grant funds received in the amount of $1,086,503.30, as outlined in the amendment; to provide for reimbursements to a specific account.
An ordinance to approve a Pedestrian Bridge Maintenance Agreement among the City of Omaha, New West Farm Holdings, LLC, Sanitary and Improvement District (S.&I.D.) 583 of Douglas County, Nebraska, and the Heartwood Preserve Master Property Owners Association, a Nebraska not for profit corporation, concerning the allowable pedestrian bridge improvements in the right-of-way and the private maintenance and liability obligations thereof for the pedestrian bridge over Pacific Street, located between Applied Parkway and 151st Street; to authorize the execution of said Agreement.
An ordinance to approve the acceptance of and authorize disbursement over more than one fiscal year from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes, FY 2022 Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Grant, Award #NELHD0489-22, in the amount of $3,707,355.00, match in the amount of $625,000.00, and total program amount of $4,332,355.00, during the project period extending from December 15, 2022 to December 15, 2026; to provide funding for lead hazard control services for up to 160 housing units in targeted areas of substandard housing; to authorize payment from such grant funding and involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter.
An ordinance levying a special tax assessment for litter removal in accordance with Sections 18-21 through 18-30 of the Omaha Municipal Code on certain lots in the City of Omaha – Group 2023-01.
An ordinance levying a special tax assessment for cutting and clearing weeds, grass and worthless vegetation in accordance with Sections 18-21 through 18-30 of the Omaha Municipal Code on certain lots in the City of Omaha – Group 2023-02.
An ordinance levying a special tax assessment for the removal and/or trimming of trees, bushes, shrubs, hedges and any other vegetation in accordance with Sections 37-1 through 37-95 of the Omaha Municipal Code on certain lots in the City of Omaha – Group 2023-03.
An ordinance to approve and execute an Agreement involving the payment of money from appropriations of more than one year in accordance with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended, by and between the City of Omaha and Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. to provide administrative services for the City’s self-insured dental plan for a period of thirty-six (36) months commencing on January 1, 2023, and ending on December 31, 2025 with two additional one (1) year City options, in accordance with the lowest and best proposal submitted by said Ameritas Life Insurance Corp.; to authorize the Finance Director to make payments to Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. in accordance with such Contract.
An ordinance to approve the proposal for group long term disability insurance with Mutual of Omaha as submitted in a response to a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the City of Omaha; to provide group long term disability insurance for full-time classified and unclassified employees of the AEC, Functional, CMPTEC, and Civilian Bargaining groups, Department Directors and elected officials beginning January 1, 2023 for a three year period ending on December 31, 2025, to authorize the Mayor to execute and the City Clerk to attest any documents required to move forward with such proposal; to authorize payment for such group long term disability insurance in the amount of $130,938 per year for the years 2023, 2024 and 2025 from General Fund 11111, Organization 118018, Account 41331; and involving the payment of money from appropriations of more than one year in accordance with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Omaha, 1956, as amended.
An ordinance to amend Omaha Municipal Code Chapter 10, Article V, Division 5 entitled “Small and Emerging Small Business Program,” Section 10-200.1 to include North American Industry Classification System (“NAICS”) code references; Sections 10-200.1, 10-200.3, 10-200.4 to change the words “certification” or “certified” to “authorization” or “authorized”; Section 10-200.4 to include references to “subcontractor” or “small subcontractor”; Section 10-200.6 to change the word “public works” to “soliciting department”; to repeal Omaha Municipal Code Sections 10-200.1, 10-200.3, 10-200.4, and 10-200.6 as heretofore existing.

NOTICE TO PUBLIC
The City Council of the City of Omaha will have a Pre-Council Meeting at 10:30 A.M. in the Jesse Lowe Conference Room, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, for the purpose of discussing the agenda items and briefing and discussion of public business; and a regular Council Meeting at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in the Legislative Chambers of the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center in Omaha, Nebraska. This meeting will have video conference capability. Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the City Clerk, but the Council shall have the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting when convened. The video conference details and an agenda for the meeting is posted on the City of Omaha website at www.cityofomaha.org.

Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the Dewey Recreation Center, 550 Turner Boulevard, Omaha, NE 68105.
Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the Parks, Recreation, and Public Property Department or on the Mayors website, https://mayors-office.cityofomaha.org/. The Board shall have the right to modify the agenda at said public meeting when convened.
