PUBLIC HEARING NOTICES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will hold public hearings on January 24, 2023, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183, for the purpose of hearing testimony for:
An ordinance authorizing the issuance of a purchase order to Interstate PowerSystems, for a price agreement for the routine, predictive/preventative and corrective maintenance to all engines, their auxiliary equipment and air compressor systems to be utilized by the Missouri River Water Resource Recovery Facility and Papillion Creek Water Resource Recovery Facility, to be effective for an initial twelve (12) month term, and is renewable for four (4) separate one-year terms; to provide for payments from appropriations of more than one year in accordance with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter of 1956, as amended; to provide for payments from a specific account.
An ordinance declaring the necessity of acquiring, for use by the City of Omaha, the necessary private property for the purpose of the Signal Infrastructure Phase D2 Project, identified as OPW 54141; providing that the City negotiate with the property owners for land acquisitions, permanent easements and temporary construction easements; providing that as to each specified parcel which cannot be obtained by negotiation, condemnation proceedings be undertaken and completed.
An ordinance vacating a 60’ x 295’ portion of Browne Street lying east of the east Right of Way line of 13th Street, abutted by Lots 12 & 13, Block 4, North Omaha Addition to the City of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska together with the north-south vacated alley and that part of vacated 12th Street adjoining said Block 4, lying Westerly of a line that is 25 feet normally distant Westerly from the centerline of the Union Pacific Railroad Company’s lead track as now constructed and operated, located on the north and that part of the NE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 3, Township 15 north, Range 13, Douglas County, Nebraska on the south; providing for the reversion or transfer of the same.
An ordinance to amend Sections two (2) and three (3) of the agreement between the City of Omaha and Metro Area Continuum of Care for the Homeless (MACCH) in the amount of $16,908,704.30 on Ordinance number 42260 passed August 31, 2021: to provide an additional $19,277,599.58 in Emergency Rental Assistance funds from the U.S. Department of Treasury to provide rent and utility assistance to households at 80% of area median income or less who are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic; to allow up to 10% of the additional funds ($1,927,759.96) to be set aside for project delivery costs incurred by MACCH.
An ordinance to accept the bid of All State Pest Control Inc. to provide pest control services for the Omaha Fire Department; the term of the agreement is for one year at a total cost of $13,608.00, with the City of Omaha having two one-year options to renew the agreement.
An ordinance to authorize the acceptance and disbursement over more than one fiscal year from the FY 2022 State Homeland Security Grant (SHSG) Award #EMW-2022-SS-00073-S01 and budgeted in the amount of $512,793.60 from the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), during the award period of September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2025, to provide law enforcement and emergency response communities in Douglas, Sarpy, and Washington Counties with enhanced capabilities for detecting, deterring, disrupting, and preventing acts of terrorism; to authorize payment from such grant funding and involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter.
An ordinance (1) to approve an agreement between the City of Omaha and the Douglas County Board of Commissioners, Douglas County Administrative Office in the amount of $200,000.00; and (2) to authorize funding for such agreement from the City of Omaha’s FY 2022 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program, Award #15PBJA-22-GG-02068-JAGX, awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance; to provide law enforcement programs, prevention and education programs, prosecution and court programs, corrections and community corrections programs, mental health programs and crisis intervention teams, and planning, evaluation and technology improvement programs; to authorize payment from such grant funding and involving appropriations of more than one year in conformity with Section 5.17 of the Home Rule Charter.

NOTICE TO PUBLIC
The City Council of the City of Omaha will have a Pre-Council Meeting at 10:30 A.M. in the Jesse Lowe Conference Room, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, for the purpose of discussing the agenda items and briefing and discussion of public business; and a regular Council Meeting at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, in the Legislative Chambers of the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center in Omaha, Nebraska. This meeting will have video conference capability. Proposed agenda kept continually current shall be available for public inspection in the Omaha/Douglas Civic Center at the Office of the City Clerk, but the Council shall have the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting when convened. The video conference details and an agenda for the meeting is posted on the City of Omaha website at www.cityofomaha.org.
