City of Omaha HR Director Resigns
The human resources director for the City of Omaha resigned effective Monday.
Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert accepted Tim Young’s resignation, which cited personal reasons, according to a news release from Stothert’s office Monday.
“We understand and support his decision to step down,” Stothert said. “We are grateful for his service. We wish Tim and his family the very best.”
Young has been human resources director since 2017. He was hired by the city government to be the labor relations director in 2015. A news release states that he was involved in contract negotiations and a change to a high-deductible health care plan. He has a law degree from Chicago’s John Marshall Law School.
Jo Cavel, a retired deputy city attorney, will serve as acting HR director while the city searches for a permanent replacement.
