Call to Order - Roll Call – Open Meetings Act
Mayor Zac Johns called the meeting to order on Monday, August 12 at 5:05 p.m. City Council members in attendance were Clint Adams, Kaye Bridgeford, Josh Dowding, and Mayor Zac Johns.
School Board members in attendance were Jeremy Dick, Tim Dreessen, Kara Neuverth, Steve Shannon, Allyson Slobotski, and Superintendent Aaron Plas.
Also in attendance were Assistant Superintendent of Operations Matt Blomenkamp, Director of Secondary Education Jimmy Feeney, Police Chief Drew Hilscher, District Secretary Jodi McCoy, and City Clerk Mindi Laaker.
The Open Meetings Act location that is available for the public was identified.
Items for Discussion include:
· Future School Facilities, Site Map and Growth Projections,
· City Economic Development Plan,
· City Infrastructure Projects,
· New City of Bennington Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Developments,
· Park/Green Space Development Plans - Update and Review of Plan, and
· Future Collaborations.

I. Call Meeting to Order- President Allyson Slobotski called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m., noting the meeting is governed by the Open Meetings Act. The Board of Education makes available at least one current copy of the Open Meetings Act posted in the meeting room at a location accessible to members of the public.
II. Public Forum- Two members of the public were present to speak.
III. Consent Agenda (Note: Items on the consent agenda are considered routine and will be enacted under one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items at the meeting unless a Board Member requests an item removed from the agenda for separate action.)

VI. Unfinished Business
VI.A. Review Progress on Previously Approved Summer Maintenance/Transportation Purchases- The Building/Finance Committee met several times throughout July to discuss the summer maintenance proposals and repair projects. A review was provided to the Board.
VII. New Business
VII.A. Discussion on 2023-24 Budget- The District’s fiscal year ends on August 31st. The Board was updated on where the District expects to end the school year within the General Fund.
VII.B. Review 2024-25 Enrollment Projections- This was an informational item for the Board.
VII.C. Discuss, Consider, and Take Action to Approve Contract for Night-Time Cleaning Services- The district received six bids, with five of them being complete and qualified bids. The contract with RTG Building Services, Inc. was unanimously recommended for approval by the Building/Finance Committee.
MOTION PASSED: Motion to approve the three-year contract between Bennington Public Schools and RTG Building Services, Inc. as presented for night-time contracted cleaning services, passed with a motion by Allyson Slobotski and a second by Tim Dreessen.
