Blair’s Carter House Emptied
Lincoln – The Three Rivers Public Health Department, working in coordination with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, has moved residents of the Carter House assisted living facility in Blair because of an outbreak of COVID-19 in the facility.
All residents and staff were tested, after several health care workers and patients tested positive for the coronavirus. DHHS, Three Rivers and and Carter House staff determined that the best course of action in light of recent developments was to move residents out of the facility temporarily.
Residents who tested positive are self-isolating at other health care facilities, and residents who are considered to have been exposed are self-quarantining at another health care facility. Staff who tested positive are self-isolating.
A number of neighboring health care facilities and hospitals are assisting with this coordinated effort. While the Carter House is empty, it will have a deep cleaning
