I.  Call Retreat to Order – Board President Allyson Slobotski called the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m., noting the Open Meetings Act, a copy of which was located on the south wall of the Board Room, governed the meeting.

II.  Bennington Board of Education will take part in a Board Retreat with representatives from the Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB) on Gallup Strengths, Board Responsibilities, and Evaluation Tools. – Nebraska School Board Association (NASB) provided each of the board members with an assessment of their Gallup strengths and engaged in discussion on how these strengths could assist Bennington Public Schools. NASB led a discussion on the roles, responsibilities, and best practices associated with being a high-quality board member. NASB led a discussion providing guidance on short term goals for the superintendent based on the Bennington Leadership Profile that was created during the superintendent hiring process.

III. Time and Date of Next Meeting – August 14, 2023, Regular Board Meeting at 6:00 p.m., Bennington District Board Room

IV. Adjournment – President Slobotski adjourned the meeting at 8:44 p.m.

NOTICE:  COPY OF OPEN MEETINGS ACT:  The Board of Education makes available at least one current copy of the Open Meetings Act posted in the meeting room at a location accessible to members of the public.  The Act is posted on the wall of the meeting room.
