Barristers Club President Doug Amen and his coterie are hard at work crafting skits and jokes for the return of the club’s annual Christmas Show early next month.

“I am very excited for the show to resume,” Amen said. “It has been a pillar in the Omaha legal community since 1960 and is a great opportunity for attorneys and judges to get together for a few laughs. I think this year will be a renaissance for the show and it will only get better with time.”

In a nod to the reason why the Barristers Club did not host a comedy show last year, this year’s physical tickets resemble COVID-19 vaccination record cards, with cocktails and dinner listed as doses one and two. The comedy show itself is the “booster dose.”

The Barristers Club Christmas Show is being held at the Paxton Building, 1403 Farnam St., on Thursday, Dec. 9. The show features sketch comedy and is only open to members of the Omaha legal community.

Tickets are $70 per person and can be purchased by contacting Amen at doug@damenlaw.com. Cocktails will start to flow at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and the show at 8 p.m.
