Ralston’s Baright Public Library has something for everyone with exciting offerings this November for children, teens and adults alike.

Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 9, the following three weekly children’s/teen events return:

• Discovery Storytime, Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

• Teen Game Night, Tuesdays at 6 p.m.

• Lego Club, Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m.

To learn more about children’s programs, visit ralstonlibrary.org.

The library also offers activities for adults this month.

For example, November’s spice club spice of the month is thyme. Each month features a new spice and a recipe.

Pick up a free take-home kit with a small sample of the spice and a copy of the recipe at the library. November’s spice club recipe is pumpkin soup.

Pick up your free spice kit at the checkout during library hours, and please note there is a limited supply.

Also for adults, this month’s book club selection is “The Homesman” by Glendon Swarthout.

The 2014 novel is described as a devastating story of the early pioneers in the 1850s America’s West.

It celebrates the ones we hear nothing of, the brave women whose hearts and minds were broken by a life of bitter hardship. A “homesman” must be found to escort a handful of them back east to their families or to a Sanitarium.

The book was adapted into a film in 2014, which was written by Tommy Lee Jones, Kieran Fitzgerald and Wesley A. Oliver, and stars Jones, Hilary Swank and Grace Gummer.

Please note, copies of the book are available to be picked up at the library, but until further notice the club will not meet for discussion.

To stay up to date on children’s activities at Baright, join the Facebook group “Children’s Corner @ Ralston’s Baright Public Library.”

For questions on youth programs, contact Youth Services Librarian Sara Scott at SaraScott@ralstonlibrary.org.
