Judge Douglas F. Johnson held a retirement party at the Douglas County Courthouse on Thursday, Aug. 20.
A long line of people waited to greet Johnson outside the conference room on the sixth floor of the courthouse. The judge received many hugs and well-wishes from party-goers.
Johnson, 65, officially retired Friday after just shy of 26 years on the bench of the Separate Juvenile Court of Douglas County.
Johnson plans to spend more time with family, reading literature, playing music and going on bike rides.
“It is time to look for some new adventures,” he said.
