Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds appointed Gina Badding as a judge of the Iowa Court of Appeals.

Badding, of Carroll, Iowa, had been serving as a district judge in Judicial Election District 2B. She previously practiced law with Neu, Minnich, Comito, Halbur, Neu & Badding, P.C., in Carroll. Badding received her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and her law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law.

The Iowa Court of Appeals is Iowa’s intermediate appellate court. It is composed of nine judges and decides appeals from district courts across Iowa.

Badding filled the vacancy created by the retirement of Iowa Court of Appeals Judge Richard H. Doyle of Des Moines.

In recent weeks, Reynolds also has appointed Meghan Corbin as a district court judge in the 7th Judicial District. And James Daane as a district court judge in Judicial Election District 3B.

Corbin, of Davenport, Iowa, served as a magistrate in the 7th Judicial District and practiced law with Gomez May LLP in Davenport. Corbin received her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and her law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law. Corbin filled the vacancy created by the retirement of District Court Judge Mark D. Cleve. The 7th Judicial District includes Cedar, Clinton, Jackson, Muscatine, and Scott counties.

Daane, of Sioux City, Iowa, practiced law with Mayne, Hindman, Daane, Parry & Wingert in Sioux City. Daane received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of South Dakota. Daane filled the vacancy created by the retirement of District Court Judge Duane E. Hoffmeyer. Judicial Election District 3B includes Crawford, Ida, Monona, Plymouth, Sioux, and Woodbury counties.

Hoffmeyer was the chief judge of the 3rd Judicial District. Chief Justice Susan Christensen named District Judge Patrick H. Tott, of Sioux City, as the new chief judge.
