11th State Prison Employee Tests Positive for Virus
Lincoln – Another Nebraska prisons employee has tested positive for COVID-19, according to state officials.
A staff member at the Lincoln Correctional Center recently tested positive for the virus and is self-isolating at home, the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said Monday afternoon in a news release.
The department will be notifying employees and inmates at the facility of the development and is directing anyone who had close contact with the staffer to self-quarantine until they are medically cleared to come out of quarantine, the release said.
The staffer is the 11th state prisons employee to test positive for the virus.
The state has not reported any additional inmates testing positive for the virus since announcing 10 days ago that three inmates had so far tested positive for COVID-19. To date, seven inmates of the Omaha Community Corrections Center have tested positive.
