WASHINGTON — Congress overwhelmingly approved a stopgap spending bill Wednesday that will keep the federal government running through Dec. 20, though the divided Congress has a lot of negotiating to do if members want to pass the dozen full-year appropriations bills before their new deadline.

More Than 60 NE Entities Show Unified Front To Update Laws, State Policies That Help Immigrants

 Representatives of more than 60 organizations gathered at the State Capitol to proclaim agreement that certain immigration policies and laws should be updated, in part to help Nebraska’s workforce shortage.

LINCOLN — More than 60 Nebraska organizations converged Wednesday at the State Capitol to announce a unified resolve to help change state and federal policies that would swing the door open for more immigrants to work and settle in as Cornhuskers.

The blame game is in full swing, and Donald Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance, are the ones using inflammatory rhetoric to fan the flames. "He believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it," Trump said of the gunman hiding on his golf course. "Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country -- both from the inside and out."

FLINT, Mich. (AP) — Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday made his first public appearance since Sunday’s second apparent assassination attempt against him, speaking to an crowd chanting “God bless Trump!” and “Fight, Fight, Fight” as U.S. Secret Service agents surrounded the stage to protect him.

WASHINGTON — Former President Donald Trump and other Republicans complained Wednesday that the previous night’s ABC News presidential debate was unfair toward the GOP nominee.

But the campaigns of Trump and the Democratic presidential nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, also engaged via the news media about the possibility of a second debate before the Nov. 5 election.
