LINCOLN — A flurry of new state laws took effect Friday, establishing new policies for firearms in small schools, launching Parole Board reforms and expanding open government and voting rights.

Of the 150 bills signed into law this year, more than 100 became effective last week. Some took effect in the spring while others won’t get the green light until July 1, 2025.

In between are the villages and boroughs of Lyndora, Connoquenessing and Evans City on the Pennsylvania side before you cross the state line directly into the village of East Palestine.

Well the signatures have all been turned in.  The petitions to legalize Medical Marijuana, offer paid sick leave to all employees, and the  two different initiatives regarding abortion have been submitted to the Secretary of State’s office and now we sit back and wait.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden is seriously considering proposals to establish term limits for U.S. Supreme Court justices, and an ethics code that would be enforceable under law amid growing concerns that the justices are not held accountable, according to three people briefed on the plans.
