THE REDFIELD
REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT PLAN
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Omaha, Nebraska, will meet and hold a public hearing on February 4, 2020, beginning at 2:00 PM in Legislative Chambers, 1819 Farnam Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68183 for the purpose of hearing testimony for:
The Redfield Redevelopment Project Plan.
The redevelopment project plan proposes to rehabilitate the former Redfield Printing Company’s 47,872 square foot building at 1901 Howard Street into a mix of office and retail commercial uses. The first floor will be occupied by a restaurant and the second and third floors will consist of multiple private office spaces, taking advantage of the site’s proximity to the Douglas County Court-house. The fourth floor will be leased to a single office user, such as a financial services group or a law firm. The building at 435 South 20th Street will be rehabilitated for use as a two level parking structure with 60 parking stalls. The project will be developed with the assistance of state and federal historic tax credits.
The Planning Board recommended approval of this Redevelopment Project Plan at the December 4, 2019 public hearing.
The Redevelopment Project Plan authorizes the City’s participation in the redevelopment of this project site through the allocation of TIF in an amount up to $1,662,342.00, plus accrued interest. TIF will be used to offset eligible expenses such as acquisition, building rehabilitation construction costs, architectural and engineering fees, and other public improvements as required. The total estimated project costs are $14,867,206.00, but are subject to change as final costs come in.
A copy of said plan is available for public inspection in the City Clerk’s Office.
Anyone interested in this matter should be in attendance.
