UNO Curious People Series Underway
The University of Nebraska at Omaha kicked off its second season of informative talks, called the Curious People Series, last Tuesday.
The talks are open to the Omaha community, free to attend and provide an opportunity for UNO faculty to speak to the public on a topic related to their expertise or something they are passionate about researching.
The Curious People Series’ first speaker was Sachin Pawaskar, professor of practice in UNO’s Department of Information Systems & Quantitative Analysis.
Pawaskar has been working the past three years developing and refining software that helps forensic anthropologists analyze and identify the remains of U.S. service members from past conflicts.
Pawaskar will be discussing this software, called CoRA – short for the Comingled Remains Analytics Ecosystem – and his work through Offutt Air Force Base, which supports the Defense POW/Accounting Agency.
