Rembolt Ludtke Duo Recognized for Pandemic Webinars
Mark Fahleson and Tara Paulson of Rembolt Ludtke LLP were recognized last week for their tandem efforts to bring crucial information to other lawyers and employers during the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
Fahleson and Paulson, both attorneys in the firm’s Employment, Labor and Benefits sector, were presented the Nebraska State Bar Association Award of Appreciation for “outstanding service for creating a better understanding of the legal profession and the administration of justice.”
Fahleson is a well-renowned employment and business attorney based in Lincoln. A University of Nebraska College of Law graduate, he has worked at Rembolt Ludtke since 1997. In his 23-year career, he has also served as the chair of the Nebraska Republican Party.
Paulson, chair of the Litigation Practice Group at Rembolt Ludtke, is a graduate of Augustana College and the Nebraska College of Law. She has worked at the firm in employment and transportation litigation since her graduation in 2010.
At the beginning of the pandemic, the pair created a series of four employment-related webinars for members of the NSBA.
“Given the evolving legal issues surrounding COVID-19, we wanted to make sure clients, other attorneys, and the community were informed on the sweeping changes occurring in the workplace,” they said in a joint statement to The Daily Record. “In a time of extreme uncertainty, we wanted to be the calm voices helping steer organizations through the pandemic as best we could.”
The two are not new to the world of webinars. For some time, the employment law team has offered a complimentary webinar on the first Friday of every month to discuss developments in the practice.
The emergence of the coronavirus pandemic provided an additional opportunity for the firm to provide guidance and education. The COVID-19 webinars have focused on what employers should expect in the coming months.
“Organizations – many for the first time – were forced to navigate issues such as sending employees home to work remotely, furloughing employees, understanding and implementing newly enacted federal paid leave benefits and best practices for handling COVID-19 when returning to work,” they said.
They said they are both honored to receive the award and appreciate the bar association for recognizing their ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive, useful information to anyone who needs it.
“At the end of the day, our goal was always to serve others as best we could,” the pair said. “We remain hopeful that we were able to be a trusted source for this kind of information.”
