Ralston Chamber Announces Its New Executive Director
The Ralston Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has hired a new executive director after a search began in early April.
Quinn Cooper was introduced as the new executive director during a membership luncheon Tuesday at the Ralston Arena.
Cooper has previously been the membership manager for the Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Omaha Chamber.
His strengths in member service and business development will bring an emphasis on ensuring members realize value from a Ralston chamber membership, the chamber said in a news release.
The chamber board identified previous chamber experience and member service as its top priorities. The board received nearly 50 resumes and conducted 15 screening interviews via Zoom before conducting three finalist interviews. A hiring committee scored the finalists and presented a preferred candidate to the full board, which voted unanimously 10-0 in favor of hiring Cooper for the position.
“We appreciate the time and effort by volunteers from our membership to help emerge from the pandemic and carry out chamber activities and events over the last three plus months,” Ralston Area Chamber of Commerce Board Chairperson Jason Richards said in a news release. “Having an opportunity to bring a new executive director on board of the caliber of talent as Quinn is exciting, and we’re looking forward to great things as we carry out the mission and vision of the Ralston chamber.”
Richards said at the luncheon that Cooper’s first day is July 1, installing him just in time for the Ralston community’s annual Independence Day Parade.
“What we were really focused on hiring-wise as a board was really (bringing) some experience from other chambers and could hit the ground running,” Richards said at the luncheon.
Cooper said he can’t wait to become part of the community and learn about the area’s businesses.
“I’m looking forward to reaching out to all of you guys. I will be out there soon,” he said.
In a news release, Cooper said he plans to help the Ralston Area Chamber of Commerce reach the next level as an organization and make a positive difference for even more people in the community.
“Building value for each of our unique members is important to me,” Cooper said. “Ralston has such a bright future, and I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the Ralston Area Chamber of Commerce on this journey.”
