Power Outage Results in Loss Of Clerk, Attorney Applications
Some law school students and graduates who applied for federal court clerkships and staff attorney positions may have to refile some of their documentation.
Affected applicants were sent a notice last Thursday with instructions on how to refile documents submitted between June 7 and Aug. 31 using the Online System for Clerkship Application and Review (OSCAR) system
Documents filed during that period may have been affected by a major power failure at one of the federal judiciary’s service providers, according to a news release. The OSCAR system is back up.
“We are working with our vendors to recover many of the affected documents and working to make your applications as whole as possible,” according to an Administrative Office of the United States Courts email. “The (office) has also been in regular contact with your law school, and we encourage you to reach out to your career services office or the OSCAR support team if you need assistance or have questions.”
