Panel of Judges Will Give Advice on Court Etiquette Do’s, Don’ts
The Omaha Bar Association is hosting a panel discussion of local judges about the do’s and don’ts of appearing in their particular courtrooms in the return of the annual Bench Bar Briefing.
The judges, who each represent one of six area courts, will go over best practices for attorneys as well as highlight what not to do should one find themselves before their benches.
The discussion counts for 2 hours of CLE credit and will be held in person at Modus Coworking Space at 19th and Howard streets on Thursday, Aug. 12, from 2 to 4:10 p.m. Attendance is free for all 2021 OBA members and $50 for non-members. (For attorneys admitted to the bar in 2016 or later, membership is only $80.)
For those unable to attend in person, the discussion will be livestreamed via Zoom. It will also be available the following day for on-demand viewing.
The discussion will be moderated by attorneys Marnie Jensen of Husch Blackwell and Joe Daly of Evans & Dixon.
The judges participating in the discussion include:
• Robert Rossiter Jr., U.S. District Court
• David Arterburn of the Nebraska Court of Appeals
• Leigh Ann Retelsdorf of the Douglas County District Court
• Stephanie Hansen of the Douglas County Court
• Matt Kahler of the Douglas County Separate Juvenile Court
