An Omaha nonprofit organization is accepting applications for a diversity program.

Applications are being accepted for Inclusive Community’s third cohort through June 18 for a selection process in September.

LeadDiversity is a year-long program designed to build a network of leaders dedicated to inclusive culture change, according to a news release.

The program provides professionals in the Midwest with skills and tools to create and advance diversity, equity and inclusion dialogues at work and in the community.

During the LeadDiversity program, participants will engage in topics on anticipating diversity and inclusion needs in the workplace as well as in the community.

“We find that a lot of young talent is leaving this region because they are not finding workplaces that support diversity in a real way,” Business Development Manager Tena Hahn Rodriguez said in a news release. “This program helps to change that at the level of our leadership, so that we can retain these wonderful people and all that they bring to the table.”

Advocates can either be sponsored by the organizations they represent, or they can self-sponsor.

“This is an opportunity for an organization to become an example in our community of what taking intentional measures to bring about inclusive change looks like,” Hahn Rodriguez said. “LeadDiversity isn’t about checking DEI off your to-do list, it’s an ongoing learning process that creates a foundation for continuous action in the spaces that we spend the majority of time.”
