Omaha Cat Cafe Plans Rescue
Felius Cat Café is launching its own feline rescue, Felius Rescue, to expand the nonprofit’s reach and impact on the Omaha community.
“We hope that by launching our very own rescue, we’ll build an even bigger community of animal advocates excited to continue supporting our mission,” founder and president Bre Phelan said in a news release. “It’s the next logical step in fulfilling our mission. Now, we’ll be able to serve the Omaha metro with a more holistic model for feline care and advocacy.”
Felius Cat Café opened in September 2018 to match adoptable cats with permanent homes, eclipsing 100 adoptions by its one-year anniversary. It has launched a Trap-Neuter-Return program to assist in efforts to humanely control the area’s feral cat population.
Felius partners with other organizations and businesses to bolster its business model. The café serves coffee beans from Muglife Coffee, taps into resources from a variety of veterinary clinics and collaborates with its neighbor, Wag, a local pet supply and grooming shop.
