Nebraska Appleseed Presents Good Apple Awards
Registrations are underway for Nebraska Appleseed’s 2019 Good Apple Awards reception to celebrate those people who stand up for justice for all Nebraskans.
The awards will be presented Thursday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m. in the Livestock Exchange Building Ballroom, 4920 S. 30th St.
Among the honorees this year:
• Marty Ramirez will receive the Jim Wolf Equal Justice Award, which recognizes a Nebraskan who has made significant contributions to justice for all throughout her career.
• Misty Frazier will receive the Milo Mumgaard Emerging Leader Award, which recognizes young, emerging leaders who have a vision for the best of what Nebraska can be and, through initiative, hard work and dedication, are pushing to make their vision a reality.
• Omaha Together One Community will receive the Roots of Justice Award, which recognizes grassroots advocates who have made outstanding contributions to justice and opportunity for all and have helped build a stronger community.
• Legal Aid of Nebraska will receive the Seeds of Justice Award, which recognizes individuals and organizations for outstanding work in the field of public interest law.
The awards reception will include live music, an hors d’oeuvres dinner and a short program. Tickets cost $75, and table sponsorships are also available.
