Milwaukee Airline to Fly Into Omaha Later This Year
Midwest Express announced last Wednesday it will serve initial flight destinations from Milwaukee to Omaha, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The Wisconsin-based airline is mounting a comeback as “Milwaukee’s hometown airline” with flights to commence before the end of the year, according to a news release from the company.
Nonstop flights will connect to the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport. Airline president Greg Aretakis said local businesses gave input that factored into the choice of initial destinations.
Midwest Express is in the process of establishing its flight booking system and will be hiring key staff positions. Elite Airways will provide flight operations and support Midwest’s efforts to pursue regulatory and operational requirements necessary for Midwest to obtain its own airline operating certificate and aircraft.
“Bringing back Midwest Express and its special brand of customer service has been something we keep hearing from the business community,” Aretakis said. “That reality has never been closer. In the coming weeks, we will complete our final steps to begin marketing flights before the end of this year.”
