Midlands Community Foundation Cancels 2021 Reflection Ball
The annual Reflections Ball hosted by the Midlands Community Foundation won’t be held for the first time in 39 years.
The foundation’s board of directors decided to cancel the ball because of the coronavirus pandemic, “out of an abundance of caution for the health and welfare of everyone involved,” according to a news release.
The 2022 Reflection Ball will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, 2020, at which time the 2021 honorees will be recognized for their commitment to community growth.
“While we were hoping to be able to host our Reflection Ball in early 2021, the well-being of our guests and staff is of the utmost importance and we want to ensure everyone stays safe and healthy,” said Executive Director Tonee Gay.
The 2021 ball had been scheduled for March 27. The annual Reflection Award honorees were Cathie and John Fullenkamp. The award honors significant contributions to Sarpy and Cass counties.
The mission of the Midlands Community Foundation is to benefit the diverse needs of the Sarpy and Cass county communities by providing financial support, involvement, and service. The foundation has an emphasis toward prevention and education in the areas of health, art, culture, community, education, economic development, and human services.
John Fullenkamp has been celebrating his 50th anniversary of practicing law. He is an attorney specializing in real estate with the firm of Fullenkamp, Jobeun, Johnson & Beller. He represents or has represented numerous commercial, office, industrial and residential developments in Sarpy County.
Cathie Fullenkamp worked for 19 years at Omaha’s Archbishop Bergan Mercy Hospital. She gives back to the community, most notably by supporting Mosaic.
